Moving To Richmond Virginia? Hop On A Richmond Virginia Trolley Tour

Whenever people ask me: "Holly, what's a fun way to explore the City of Richmond Virginia?" The answer is easy -- especially since it is always one of my favorite things to do...

Wait for it....Trolley Tours!

You don't need to go to San Francisco or New Orleans to experience the fun and excitement of a trolley ride.  Instead, get a unique view of the River City from the seat of a trolley in an old Richmond way.

Why is a Richmond Virginia Trolley Tour my favorite?

Whether you are relocating to Richmond, are new to the area, or just want to enjoy a fun adventure, a trolley tour is a must.  As Judy Garland’s “Trolley Song” goes:  “Clang, clang, clang went the trolley; Ding, ding, ding went the bell; Zing, zing, zing went my heart strings…” Who knows…if you are searching for a new place to call home, you might just fall in love with Richmond on your next trolley tour—the perfect neighborhood, the perfect home for sale…the opportunities are endless.

And, here’s a fun fact—Richmonders have a special place in their hearts for trolleys since as noted on the historical marker found near 5th and Leigh Streets in downtown Richmond, the City has the honor of being the location of the world’s first trolley system dating back to 1888 and spanning 12 miles of track and 40 trolley cars.

A trolley tour allows you to bring your family and friends or meet new people while exploring all that the River City has to offer. Whether you choose a historic tour, a brewery tour, a Hollywood Cemetery tour, or create a personalized tour of your own, you are sure to enjoy Richmond on a vintage trolley. The tour guides have a wealth of information to share and are always happy to answer your questions as you leisurely explore each nook and cranny of the City. You’ll learn about the City’s rich history as one of the oldest cities in America, you’ll see the City’s beautiful riverfront, breathtaking architecture, and gorgeous landscape, all combined with stories and humor along the way.  You’ll also have plenty of chances to snap great pictures as you absorb the many sights and sounds of this beautiful city.  By the time you’re done, you’re certain to feel like a local.

But, not to worry, if a trolley tour is not for you, you might enjoy a bike tour, a Richmond ghost tour, a canal cruise, a food tour, a mural or art tour, or paddlesports, just to name a few fun things to do as you explore living, working, and playing in Richmond, the River City.
